World Suicide Prevention Day – September 10th


On September 10th, people across the globe recognize World Suicide Prevention Day. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness, breaking stigma, and spreading the message that suicide is preventable. It’s also a reminder that small acts of kindness, listening without judgment, and offering support can truly save lives.




How You Can Get Involved


Everyone has the power to make a difference. Here are a few ways you can take action this month:


💛 Start the conversation. Check in with a friend, a family member, or even a coworker. Sometimes just asking, “How are you really doing?” can open the door to healing.


💛 Share resources. Post the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline on your social media or in your community. Remind others that help is available 24/7.


💛 Educate yourself. Learn about the warning signs of suicide and ways to support someone in crisis. Knowledge is a powerful tool in prevention.


💛 Show kindness. Simple acts—like offering a smile, sending a text, or lending a listening ear—can make a huge impact.


💛 Get involved in events. Participate in local walks, awareness campaigns, or online events that support mental health and suicide prevention.

Hey Cousins! May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it is a time to bring attention to the importance of taking care of our mental health. This is especially crucial for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities, who often face unique challenges and barriers when it comes to accessing mental health care. Mental health disparities are a pressing issue within BIPOC communities, with studies showing that individuals from these communities are less likely to receive mental health treatment and more likely to experience negative outcomes. Factors such as systemic racism, discrimination, and cultural stigma can all contribute to these disparities, making it even more important for us to prioritize our mental well-being.
